Eye Test and ServicesThe importance of regular eye tests cannot be understated. The College of Optometrists recommends an annual eye test for children up to the age of 16, then at least every two years until the age of 59, and then an biannual test for those over 60.

At Gwynns Opticians, we have qualified optometrists who will take you through a full eye test, and will advise you on the results afterwards. The test is performed in a friendly, relaxed environment and usually takes around 30 mins. If you have any questions regarding the test, please get in touch with us and we'll be more than happy to answer you.

These eye tests not only assess the standard of your eyesight, but also give a snapshot of the general health of your eyes. They can even be used to help identify other health problems such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Half of all cases of sight loss are avoidable, and early detection of eye conditions can help prevent loss of vision.

As well as private eye tests, Gwynns Opticians offer the following:

NHS Eye Tests

NHS eye tests are free for those who qualify - these include children, over 60s, those on certain benefits, and and those with certain medical conditions including diabetes and glaucoma.
